Battle For Warrnambool Cheese and Butter Is Hotting Up…

Battle for Warrnambool Cheese Butter hots up

Robert Gottliebsen from Eureka Report takes a look at the Warrnambool Cheese and Butter (WCB) takeover battle, on the back of Murray Goulburn Co-operative’s bid last week. WCB has seen a 75% return as a result over the past 5 weeks.

Warrnambool Cheese and Butter (WCB) has seen its shares rise by almost 80 per cent after Bega and two other companies – Canadian dairy giant Saputo and the Murray Goulburn Co-operative – joined the bidding war for Australia’s oldest dairy producer.

Bega Cheese chairman Barry Irvin says the dairy company intends to pursue its Warrnambool Cheese and Butter takeover offer, which has become the subject of rival bids, adding that the local dairy industry “needs to be in Australian hands”.
